The DMS-650 represents the latest addition to our DMS platform, replacing the DMS-550 and surpassing the well-known DMS-600 in terms of performance. It truly packs a powerful punch, far exceeding the label of a mere "replacement." The DMS-650 is built around the AK4497EQ VERITA DAC, which is the same as our previous flagship model, the DMS-600. With this uncompromising design, the DMS-650 delivers stunning clarity and richness, characterized by the effortless musicality for which Cary Audio is renowned. It effortlessly combines intricate detail and exceptional bass articulation, while still maintaining a natural texture that makes you forget you're listening to a digital source, allowing you to immerse yourself in the music.

Customers who experience the DMS are consistently amazed by its solid foundation, expansive soundstage, openness, and transparent audio quality. The DMS-650 is capable of handling native 32-bit / 768kHz PCM and DSD 512 formats. Moreover, it is Roon Ready and MQA Certified. Like other DMS products, the DMS-650 enables streaming from various sources, including on-board TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, Spotify Connect, vTuner, as well as files stored on a network computer or NAS Drive. And if that wasn't enough, it offers three (3) USB-A ports for convenient playback from connected USB hard drives, flash drives, or even an SD card. For added convenience, the DMS-650 also includes aptX™ HD input and output, which allows for Bluetooth connectivity to speakers or headphones, along with Airplay support.

In terms of appearance, the DMS-650 features a slight cosmetic redesign. The black units now showcase a black-out look, incorporating a black display frame and black power button. Both black and silver units have a new "swoosh" design on the right-side groove, accompanied by a faceplate that lacks silkscreened logos, resulting in a clean and sleek aesthetic.

Additional features of the DMS-650 include Ethernet or Wi-Fi connectivity options, TruBit™ 7-step Selectable PCM upsampling up to 768kHz, selectable PCM to DSD conversion with 3-step DSD upsampling, and various digital inputs such as Coaxial (x2), Optical (x1), and AES/EBU (x1). It also offers Coaxial and Optical digital outputs, RCA and XLR fully balanced outputs, OSO™ Re-clocking, MU-MIMO Wi-Fi support, as well as a full 3-volt output and variable volume control for a direct connection to an amplifier.
