At its core, the PhonoARAY features a hand-wound, ultra-high-current series filter connecting both terminals. This is complemented by a sophisticated ARAY system connected in parallel, which enhances sound stability and provides an effective dual "virtual earth system" for both the turntable and phono stage.
Connections are made via two high-quality 4mm speaker-style terminals, compatible with 4mm ‘banana’ plugs and spade connectors. The PhonoARAY links the earth terminal of the turntable (or tonearm) to the earth terminal of the phono stage (or amplifier phono input) and comes with a dedicated 50cm screened earth cable (4mm to spade connector) for secure connection between the PhonoARAY and the phono input earth.
The unit is housed in a thick-walled machined aluminium billet, offering excellent electrical and acoustic isolation. The PhonoARAY chamber is resin-filled to minimise microphony — the unwanted transformation of mechanical vibrations into electrical noise.
Further microphony reduction is achieved through two ultra-lightweight, decoupled isolation feet. To allow full decoupling, the feet fixing bolts should be loosened before installation.
