Turntable earthing with Chord Company PhonoARAY

A new grounding accessory was designed by The Chord Company specifically for record players/turntables. Chord Company PhonoARAY is a passive device which acts as a noise trap between grounding earth terminals of your turntable and phono preamp/amp. Accepting spade or 4mm banana type plug terminated wire on each end of a cylindrical enclosure, PhonoARAY suppresses ground plane noises and interference, converting tiny electrical pulses into harmless heat. It's design principle is not of a series filter but rather as a sink for removing parasitic noise riding on electric ground.
Inside PhonoARAY is a mix of proprietary materials encasing an RFI filter and direct low loss Chord Company's ARAY wiring. Machined from solid aluminium the PhonoARAY enclosure is, compared to similarly purposed GroundARAY products, heftier and larger in size. Thick walls act as an additional RF-shield and the cylinder sits on damping feet for this extra layer of mechanical isolation. 50-cm length earth wire, derived from the Chord Company Signature range technology, is included in the package.
Expected to be launched in UK and Europe on February 5th, Chord PhonoARAY has been on limited release in Japan since December 2024, and has already won the prestigious Audio Excellence Grand Prix Award as the best accessory.
