Flexible and easy to handle, the new Chord Company Leyline2XL custom installation speaker cable is a welcome addition to budget Leyline range from the renowned British hi-fi audio cable manufacturer.
The revamped Leyline cable series now offer line-level and HDMI audio video interconnects and speaker cable for discreet installations behind walls or ceilings or in any other application were cost of running long run of specialist cable is a consideration.
With Leyline The Chord Company was able to achieve outstanding sound in the very modestly priced product range. This no mean feat stemmed from solid research and new tech processes and materials. Problematic PVC isolation was replaced by XLPE, a cross-linked polymer, which is not only abrasion-resistant and durable but also has significantly lower level of 'ghost reflections' and delay when carrying audio band signals. Another big advantage of XLPE over PVC is excellent thermal stability, which is particularly important for relatively high current applications like speaker cables.
As expected for custom installation cable which may be laid in hard to access locations, Leyline2XL is fire safety CPR rated as Euroclass Dca s1, d1, a1. The outer jacket is halogen-free low smoke plastic, meter marking and rip cord make it very convenient for quick deployment on-site. Multistranded 14AWG (equivalent of 2.68 mm2 cross-section) tin-plated copper conductors are oxidation-proof.
Chord Company Leyline2XL is sold in 152m easy-pull box and is available now. 4mm banana plug or spade terminations sold separately.
