Cary Audio SLP-300 vacuum tube preamp debuts at Munich High End 2025
Next generation preamplifier from Cary Audio is configurable via on-screen menu, works with line level and phono (MM and MC cartridges) sources, provides RCA, XLR and headphone outputs.
Cary Audio SLP-300 preamp circuitry is fully balanced (symmetrical), with audio amplification taken care of by four 12AX7 dual triode valves operating in pure Class A.
Dedicated headphone section can drive a range of headphones with widely varying impedance. Front panel has ports for balanced (4-pin mini XLR) headphone connection, as well as more common 4 and 6.3mm jacks.
High quality phonostage uses discrete transistor circuitry for lowest noise and outstanding resolution. It accepts MM and MC-cartridges, with load metrics adjustable via a set of DIP-switches on the back panel.
Line-in sources are 2 XLR and 2 RCAs, and there is one XLR output and 2 RCAs.
A major design update for Cary Audio's preamplifier range is a colour LCD-screen which allows user to name, fine-tune and otherwise configure the preamp sources and outputs.
