Launched today, the new English Electric EE1 plus Ethernet LAN Isolating Coupler, is an advanced noise protection device to be inserted inline with LAN-connected audio gear.
Usage cases include wired (Ethernet) LAN connections between home router and network player/streamer, network switch and streamer, with additional EE1 plus couplers added between music server and network swittch or between router and switch (see diagram below).
EE1 Plus is a small coupler box with two female RJ45 LAN connectors and is used to connect one end of an Ethernet cable to another. It provides galvanic isolation and in-phase noise suppression in an extended frequency range. The EE1 Plus offers more robust protection than standard EE1 device due to machined aluminium case which acts as an RFI-shield and more sophisticated filtering. Having both EE1 and EE1 Plus in product line-up gives English Electric users better flexibility and price options when building their noise protected wired LAN network for audio.
