The Turntable That Never Was
The past and future of Gold Note converge in the Mediterraneo X. Inspired by the iconic Mediterraneo, this innovative turntable blends tradition with technology to cater to analogue enthusiasts seeking a next-gen record player with cutting-edge, high-end features. All functions of the turntable can be controlled from the touchscreen display, allowing for precise adjustment of motor speed and torque to synchronise perfectly with the type of LP and music being played. A new timer function records the needle's usage time, enabling monitoring of stylus wear and tear. The platter, made from machined solid aluminium and composite POM to minimise vibrations, weighs a substantial 7 kg, ensuring excellent stability and maximum precision in rotation speed.
The plinth comprises three components: a large aluminium table (machined from solid), a 3mm stainless steel platter, and a lower plinth made from solid Italian wood, reproducing the catenary curve. This famous shape, borrowed by Gold Note from the works of Michelangelo and Galileo, provides maximum structural rigidity with consistent mass and dimensions, allowing the record player to deliver exceptional performance in detail, dynamism, and reproduction. The three stylish feet, made of anodised aluminium, are height-adjustable, and the back features top-quality RCA connectors. The Mediterraneo X comes with its own phono cable.
The Mediterraneo X turntable is belt-driven and powered by a proprietary control system developed on a Quadral-Core microcontroller enhanced by an audio converter. This ensures the flawless operation of the 12V synchronous motor, eliminating vibrations and speed variations. The power supply unit electronically controls the motor and allows for precise adjustment of the 33⅓rpm and 45rpm speeds, storing all settings in memory.
