Special Production Fyne Audio Classic Gold speakers

In the wake of market success of Fyne Audio's Classic and Vintage Classic loudspeaker series new special production (SP) Classic Gold SP line-up is positioned in the (golden) middle between the two. The new series are another example of Special Production approach where a well-established product line is upgraded aesthetically and technically without significant cost premium.
As it was in the case of 500SP and 700SP ranges, Classic Gold SP line is based on the most advanced IsoFlare drive units from the top of the range, namely ones from Vintage Classic speakers, but retain the less sophisticated rectangular shape from the basic Classic. Nevertheless the newly designed cabinets are made from expensive birch ply which has a lot of acoustical advantages over MDF-board. To house the drivers in a new cabinet, a complete rework of crossover network was required, as well as changes in bass loading and many other improvements which were envisaged by Technical Director Dr. Paul Mills and then approved by listening panels.
While looking decisively retro, with a 1970s flair, the new Classic Gold SP range is based on original new technologies and materials developed by Fyne Audio. This includes point-source low/high frequencies IsoFlare drive unit, 360° tractrix horn shaped bass distribution system, BassTrax, both of which help to achieve exemplary even in-room sound distribution for deep and spacious soundstage, precise stereo imaging and deep tight bass.
The new Classic Gold SP speaker range includes four models, respectively based on 8, 10, 12 and 15-inch diameter IsoFlare LF/HF-drive units (200, 250. 300 and 380 mm). Gold VIII SP, uses an 8-inch paper-based LF driver with a magnesium dome tweeter radiating through its pole piece. This drive unit is an updated version of the one used in Fyne Audio's F1-8 high end speaker. The larger models, Gold X SP, XII SP, and XV SP, are based on respective Vintage Classic drivers, where titanium dome tweeters with more powerful rare earth (Neodymium-based) magnets come into action.
From the Vintage series Classic Gold SP models also inherited rich and warm natural veneer finish with gold accents on the front panel controls, which are, again, transplanted from Vintage speakers, and allow the user to fine tune 'presence' and 'treble energy' in the very room the speakers are used in.
Manufactured at the new Glasgow-area Fyne Audio's factory, Classic Gold SP speakers are available now. For technical specifications, pricing and further info refer to our store listings:
