The latest addition to the Table Top (TT) family of compact amplifiers and DACs, BerTTi is a major advancement in Chord Electronics' Ultima amplifier technology. Ultima is the brainchild of John Franks, founder and CEO of Chord Electronics. Based on solid research by the likes of Bob Cordell (Bell Labs) and Dr Malcolm O. Hawksford (Essex University), the original dual feed-forward error correction designs have been perfected with the use of proprietary MOSFETs that are fast, high voltage and extremely powerful.
Measuring just 235 x 59 x 256mm (WHD), BerTTi contains two channels of 75W power (8 ohms) and is a fully balanced amplifier throughout. Both balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) inputs are provided for universal compatibility. In the TT range, BerTTi replaces the TToby stereo power amplifier.
By adding a matching DAC (Chord Electronics Hugo TT2), BerTTi provides a compact sound system that can be used with virtually all modern digital sources, offering true high-end sound quality in a tabletop package. A further upgrade can add the processing power of the Chord Electronics M Scaler, a digital upsampler and processor with industry-leading performance and precise natural sound.
The Chord Electronics BerTTi has a recommended retail price (RRP) of €4,795 and is available in either Jet Black or Argent Silver finishes.
