Fyne Audio shows new F704SP speakers at Munich High End 2025
Fyne Audio's Special Production (SP) model range proved to be popular with the customers seeking maximum sound quality from their speaker investment. The largest floorstander in the F700 range, the F704, with its 134 cm tall cabinet and 2½ way driver arrangement, is now re-designed for the Special Production range as F704SP.
The concept of Special Production is based upon all-out upgrade of an existing successful speaker: new drive units, new crossover, engineering tweaks — all, but the cabinet itself, gets the tuning and upgrading by a team of engineers led by Dr. Paul Mills, Fyne Audio's creative engineering chief.
Trickle-down technology from the flagship F1-12s speaker is most evident in the 300mm (12 inch) IsoFlare point source driver of F704SP, which is upgraded to rare-earth permanent magnets for extra power and bass depth.
A second 300mm (12 inch) driver is used in tandem with the IsoFlare unit for bass frequencies. It has a lower crossover point compared to the IsoFlare LF part for the so called two and a half way system type.
The crossover schematics were re-calculated and tuned accordingly to a new drive unit and also feature upgraded components and Cryo treatment at Fyne Audio's own Subzero Temperature Lab.
F704SP is built at the new Fyne Audio factory in the UK and is hand finished in piano gloss black or gloss white lacquer, or gloss walnut, or satin walnut veneer.
