Meze Audio STRADA headphones follow the chassis design of LIRIC series, lightweight, versatile and comfortable to wear. The new build though is optimised acoustically for 40 Ohm, 50 mm dynamic drivers derived from 109 PRO model and is engineered for transparent, fast and engaging sound. A new dome membrane material is a sophisticated cellulose composite with carbon fibre added for additional stiffness and lower moving mass. The dome is moving on a grooved toroidal surround made from semicristalline polymer coated with extremely thin beryllium film. Manufacturing such a suspension involves PVD-technology, when the solid metal (light and stiff beryllium) is vapourised in a vacuum chamber and deposited on substrate surface (grooved polymer suspension) atom by atom for extremely even and predictable results. A copper-zinc ring terminates the surround ensuring no reflected waves will bounce back to the sound source.
The Meze STRADA are hand-assembled and the uniquely styled industrial design requires hand-painting the lightweight magnesium frame in a very specific shimmering shade of green. Four layers of paint create a mesmerising effect of modern technology combined with human artistry.
Ear cups project the warmth of tropical hardwood and the shades of natural macassar ebony make each pair of STRADAs visually individual.
STRADA design was aimed to combine light weight with solid punchy sound of a closed-back acoustical load. Each listening session promises to be extra comfortable for extra time. It’s modular, making each part easily replaceable in case of wear and tear, supporting the notion of exemplary sustainability and long-term ownership of each Meze Audio product.
