ULTIMA amplifier technology was developed by John Franks based on a scientific research of dual error correction schematics presented in the published works of John Cordell and, later, of Malcolm J. Hawksford. Essentially it's a tremendously high speed monitoring system which corrects the amplifier output using both feedforward and feedback strategies. To implement ULTIMA John Franks designed custom MOSFETs which are manufactured exclusively for Chord Electronics. ULTIMA technology is this innovative error correction combined with Chord Electronics high speed power supplies perfected since the company's first amplifier.
