New Gen. 2 design achieves significant improvements in sound quality and versatility, elevating Gold Note CD player to the new 5.2 series.
While the CD medium is past its prime, there is absolutely no need to say good-bye to the silver disc especially if you own a sizeable collection of music in the CD-Audio format. Modern CD player like Gold Note CD-5.2 offers no-nonsense state-of-the-art digital circuitry and solid mechanics combined in a compact 20-cm-wide chassis.
First introduced in 2024 the CD-5 is based around a modern drawer-loading mechanics by Suos Hi-Fi (formerly Stream Unlimited). An external power supply is also available as a simple upgrade path.
The 2nd generation Gold Note CD-5.2 builds upon CD-5 foundation but with a number of significant design improvements. New aluminium chassis is more effective as an RFI-shield and performs better at mechanical isolation too. Re-designed internal power supply adds lightning fast reaction to current demands in the DAC section. The overall sonic improvement brings greater transparency, uncurbed dynamics and sense of control no matter how complex the musical passage is.
A Gold Note CD-5.2 version comes with integrated volume control which allows the user to build minimalist but clean audiochain with active speakers or power amp.
Finally a new display and servo electronics provide faster and easier to read response to remote commands during playback.
The new CD player joins 5.2 headphone amp and phono stage in the latest 5.2 series of Gold Note affordable but solidly built in Italy audio electronics.
