Meze 105 AER are new open-back headphones from master craftsmen of Meze Audio. Based upon Meze Audio’s 50 mm driver 105 AER (‘air’) offer a unique blend of high tech engineering and materials with maximum user friendliness in comfort, ergonomics and reliability.
Made with premium materials every component of Meze 105 AER submits a building block for lightweight and comfortable wear while staying rugged and impact-proof. Platform hardware is cast zinc alloy with protective film coating (PVD), spring steel headband is self-adjustable for minimum pressure and damped with soft PU leather cover. Extremely lightweight ear cups are made from tough blended thermoplastic (ABS-PC) and fitted with velour ear pads. All this makes the new Meze 105 AER the lightest open-backs in Meze Audio line-up (336 g).
Lush and beautiful sound of Meze 105 AER is born in proprietary 50mm driver modified to voice this particular model. Light and rigid membrane is made from cellulose/carbon fibre mix and is edge-suspended on a specially profiled PEEK suspension. PEEK, or polyetherether ketone, is an extruded polymer film with unrivaled performance (high-temperature, wear and tear resistance, lightweight, mechanical strength, durability, low moisture absorption) which can be made very thin and light.
