Linn Records downloads to close, content moved to Qobuz

linn records downloads to close
According to Linn statement digital download website linnrecords.com will be closing down on February 28th. Founded in 2007 to promote high resolution downloads, the website made Linn records catalogue available as high res audio files, PCM and DSD, while also selling music from selected other labels too.
Linn Records audiophile music label, established in 1982, released over 400 titles on CD, LP and digital media. The recordings covered mostly classical as well as some other genres performed by Scottish and world artists. There is no information whether the closure of download site will affect the label release schedule.
Apparently seeing streaming as the most viable distribution channel, Linn Records entered in an agreement with audiophile streaming service Qobuz, which will now carry label's extensive catalogue of high res music. As well as streaming, Qobuz also offers downloads, paid or included in the subscription.
Linn records also advises customers to check their previous purchases and re-download before February 28 if anything is missing.
