At the heart of the IB2 SE is PMC’s legendary dome midrange driver. First introduced in the flagship BB5 and MB2 monitors, this driver earned widespread acclaim from leading sound engineers for its unparalleled vocal clarity. The SE series benefits from a specially enhanced version of this driver. The tweeter, standard across the SE range, is a 27 mm soft dome crafted from “Sonolex” material for precise high-frequency performance. For bass reproduction, the IB2 SE departs from PMC’s iconic “Radial” driver with its external exoskeleton design. Instead, it employs a more conventional-looking 250 mm bass driver with a flat diaphragm.

The low-frequency system utilises PMC’s next-generation Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) technology. The transmission line, folded within the cabinet, spans an impressive 240 cm in total length. Approximately 75% of this labyrinth is filled with a specialised foam absorber, which dampens internal sound waves and enhances deep bass extension.

The robust cabinet (weighing 49 kg) is mounted on a specially designed stand (weighing 13 kg) that matches the speaker’s finish. These stands are included as part of the package.
