Precious and beautiful, the new Meze Astru earphones boast titanium enclosure in an attractive satin finish and a host of sophisticated acoustic technologies to make the sound full-scale natural.
Astru (a star in Romanian) are high end in-ear monitors without high end pricing and are engineered to combine sonic impact with low distortion and unrivalled transparency. To achieve this veritable goal a single driver is used in a non-resonant enclosure precisely machined from a solid block of high-grade titanium, a metal which is the toughest (as in strength-to-weight ratio) available.
This acoustically inert titanium enclosure houses a 10 mm driver with multi-layer dome membrane, combining light weight for extended treble response and excellent tensile strength for accurate scale and dynamics in sound. The making of the dome is a technological marvel and involves vacuum depositing 80 layers of gold over titanium film later bonded with PEEK (high tech polymer) substrate. This precision of coating and final composite assembly is a major contribution to high performance specs and sound.
Meze Audio Astru IEMs will be sold as a retail package including two types of carrying pouches, five sizes of ear tips (XS–XL), a premium balanced cable with gold-plated 4.4 mm balanced termination. A 4.4 mm to 3.5 mm adapter is also included thus making the Astru package ready to use with a variety of portable or stationary audio hardware.
Meze Audio Astru in-ear monitors are available now at a RRP of €899. For further information and technical specs refer to our online store entry.
