Meze Audio Astru is a premium single-driver in-ear monitor (IEM) engineered for high-fidelity audio reproduction in both portable and desktop setups. At its core is a custom 10mm dynamic driver featuring a highly advanced multi-layer composite diaphragm. The driver’s dome is coated with over 80 ultra-thin layers of gold via vacuum DC magnetron sputtering, bonded to a titanium layer, and mounted on a highly responsive PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) suspension base to ensure rapid transient response and exceptional diaphragm control. This acoustic engine is supported by a precision magnetic architecture—comprising internal and external annular magnets and a rear bass-bolstering vent—delivering dynamic linearity across a wide 5 Hz to 35 kHz frequency range.
The Astru’s ergonomic shell is CNC-machined from a single block of pure titanium and finished with a multi-stage electroplated satin nickel coating, resulting in extreme durability and a lightweight profile (13.4g per earpiece). For uncolored signal transmission, it uses a 0.78mm 2-pin connector system and includes a detachable, dual-strand silver-plated LC-OFC (Linear Crystal Oxygen-Free Copper) balanced 4.4mm cable.
