Through research, we developed a remarkable Dual-Composite Diaphragm—a brilliant combination of Beryllium-coated polymer and cellulose-carbon fibre.
Moreover, a copper-zinc alloy stabiliser ring enhances vibration absorption to significantly reduce distortion. Accompanying these elements are a lightweight neodymium magnet and copper coil. Meze Audio 109 Pro is a premium open-back, circumaural dynamic headphone designed for audiophile-grade desktop and high-end portable listening.
At its core is a meticulously tuned 50mm dynamic driver encased in a high-precision CNC-machined aluminum frame with a neodymium magnet. The driver features a highly advanced composite diaphragm: a W-shaped dome made from a carbon fiber-reinforced cellulose composite for detailed high-frequency reproduction, surrounded by a 22-micron ultra-thin semicrystalline polymer torus coated in beryllium via Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) to maximize stiffness and transient response. To achieve an ideal anatomical fit and acoustic phase, the driver is positioned at a precise angle and distance from the ear, exposed through an acoustically transparent, spider-shaped grille.
Externally, the 109 Pro is built with premium, sustainable materials, combining Black Walnut wood ear cups, cast zinc hardware, and a self-adjusting manganese steel headband. With breathable velour cushions, a 40-ohm impedance, and 112 dB sensitivity, it delivers a highly dynamic, fatigue-free listening experience across a 5 Hz to 30 kHz frequency range and is engineered to be endlessly serviceable.
