Meze 105 Silva – Open-Back Headphones

Meze Audio 105 Silva is a premium open-back dynamic headphone that merges mid-century modern design with a dual-focus sound signature engineered for both clarity and richness. At its core is a 50mm dynamic driver featuring a W-shaped dome crafted from a carbon fiber-reinforced cellulose composite.

This lightweight and durable bio-cellulose composite effectively reduces resonances that lead to harmonic distortion. The driver’s torus is constructed from a semicrystalline polymer and coated with titanium using a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) process to optimize stiffness and transient speed. To further suppress distortion, the membrane is surrounded by a copper-zinc alloy stabilizer, and the torus incorporates grooves positioned precisely at a 45.5° angle.

Externally, the headphones combine sustainable Solid Walnut wood and PC-ABS for the ear cups, paired with breathable velour ear cushions and a self-adjusting headband for all-day comfort. Designed for high efficiency with a 42-ohm impedance and 112 dB sensitivity, the 354-gram 105 Silva operates effortlessly across a 5 Hz to 30 kHz frequency range. It notably includes a custom 3.5 mm to USB-C adapter with an integrated DAC/AMP, making it seamlessly compatible with modern portable devices out of the box.
